Blog network is the most natural way to build up your back links, a lot of know it already, but they can not continue make fresh post on there, I will list my reason why you need to pay more attention on your personal blog.

How to do the Chinese SEO?
I am learning Chinese SEO skill first, then test all of them in Google.com , I found that, Google.com could be the highest level and the most healthy search engine on the earth. the most important for Google ranking could be back links resources, and back links take around 70% percentage on ranking.
SEO skills come from USA first ( not sure that, could be, search engine get hot on USA first ), So, English language sites more than 70% know the basic skill to optimize their site, using no-follow tag or have sense to obtain their site authority.
I will list some suggestion for English speaking but want to do Chinese SEO ranking on Google or Baidu.
Suggestion one: Try Forums, no matter signature or post on forums could be very useful now, Baidu is come later than Google, and Chinese site owner could be 50% know the basic skill about no-follow, you have good chance to take advantage of that. but you can forgot English language version forums, most of them are no-follow. I did try search housewares forums at beginning, but all back links are no-followed on signature and post content. but leave link without http://www. could be a little help for you. I am testing this one now.
Suggestion two: Try Google translation, and save as PDF format, submit it, I just try a crazy one, submit sitemap as PDF to a site! I will waiting the result to measure the effect. Most of the back links are about housewares products , So check this keyword on Google, give it at least 3 days, or two weeks, If your keywords go up, congratulations! you find one. There also could be easier to submit all URLs like me, but the only problem is that will reduce your chance to get approved.
Suggestion three: search the resources and write down or print out, analysis them carefully, the key point is make clear what kind of back links works? why them work? How them work? If you not thinking about this, You will follow and beg others Forever!

I have little experience about building a professional looking website, but what is the most import point to a website? SEO strategy? great looking? high quality content? I will list my opinion for you, hope those can help you have a successful business and great traffic.

Take my test website uniware houseware whosaler as an example. This is a housewares website, an E-commerce website, it have price, shipping rate, maybe some material information for their high quality housewares products, how do you think visitors' needs? let me guess, they need to know Brand name, and how is the brand performed maybe how long this brand's history is. they need to know compared the price with other brand, they need to products warranty information and shipping & return police. Do they have building? So, uniware have most of them.
2. where is your site content come from? or who make these content for your site?
This is the key point to have higher PR (although most of people, think PR is not that important than before), and make your site continue have more traffics, Let's see Uniware's example. All the content are created by their company, because only their company have their products information. there is only one part will created by visitors, that is reviews. But it seems there is no benefit for visitors, and until now there is only one customer review. The key point is how to let your visitors glad to post their opinion or articles what ever they like. No site owner want to deal with the content everyday, that will you a big headache.
3. Did your website design fit for your business or your categories?
Let me explain this more clear, take a Bath & Beyond as an example, when you go there, how do you feel, and do you want to buy their products? The website is different between real shop store, but same to need relative Decoration. Uniware have weakness on this side, maybe the whole background need to change to kitchen or wall to make visitor feel like they come to a real housewares store!

Take my test website: Uniware housewares Import Corp. as an example, i fix the function hard and try my best let it looks Pro. when you finished, then, do some back links, here you go, orders placed. and even the business partner contact you.
For the back links, you need to focus on the long tail keywords, We did cheap high quality housewares ,high quality housewares products ,cheap discount housewares ,housewares products catalog,may be not that much traffic, but this kind of traffic are easier to take orders than housewares
, So, take your time, optimize the website little by little, what you need to consist is optimize on-site pages, high quality back links.
I do recommend Zen Cart system to beginner, at beginning is tough but you will familiar very quick, and everything is Free! but Pro, such as, the USPS plugin. this plugin can calculate shipping fees accurate depends on the zip code, PayPal business account, when you set up, everything can go much easier than you thinking, Sales maker can auto show discount rate with RED discounted price. There is a tip for show out of stock products, when you set that products quantity number to 0, this product will show sold out, red color.
The most difficult part is how to custom the main page layout, that stack me for two months. the Goal is make main page looks Pro and hold traffic, beside this one, another problem is how to organize the layout for product page. If everything go well, the visitor gonna enjoy your site, so the bounce rate will keeping low. Google think this site must high quality content or have almost all content for visitor, then the ranking also go up. The housewares shipping problem
We are send more than 10 orders, we use mail station 2 for printing shipping label, but we found that was bad, because there are no tracking number, and when the package arrived, customer call us about damaged items, so we have to resent brand new one to them, this will losing money from each order, so it is time to change postal service, we choose Endicia, it can do tacking # also insurance easy.
The next thing need to do is how to bring customers and how to do sales on items, because we did 20% off for a whole month, now there no more discount, so no one know how to sell same orders as last month will be the big question.

Change to Endicia postal service
We have to use a new postal service, because the old one can not come with the tracking number, there do have lots of damaged items from the formerly order, we have to pay the cost, no one want to feeling bad from gain nothing after hard work.
We are just open our housewares online business, we really did wholesale price for retailing website. A lot of customers buy from us because this, even although we are not fully set up yet, in that time, our shipping module are sick, the price never matched at all, now this meter can show tracking number and company name, also can buy insurance and the website's out looking is also ugly, now looks better, the website can show how many people online, and price filter, the recent orders, customers' review, big slider for Uniware information, like warehouse, showroom.

Recently, I notice that when I post some pictures with Uniware cheap housewares , discount housewares, I really can get some traffic from Google+, but no traffic from FB, although I did not take care about FB, so why we did SEO? For traffic, relative high quality stable traffic, is that easy? No, could be take more than 3 months, and even more, need fissional SEO operator, expensive? maybe, but worth, So, Google+ easy? Yes, you can enjoy the stream and share review, post whatever you like, do people will notice you? Yes, some of them will visit your website, the bounce rate under 20%(which is people open your website and just leave did not visit other pages or links).
